Mommy/Daughter Date Day

Last weekend Sierra and I took advantage of the perfect Colorado Springs windy day and had our date day at the park.  Weston got some one on one time with a babysitter and we got in some one on one time hopefully building some memories!

It was supposed to be a bit warmer than the day turned out, but we worked it in our favor.  We loaded up a picnic lunch, the kite, her bike, helmet and water bottle and headed out.  We made it to America the Beautiful park a little after noon.

First we went over to a bench to have our lunch... well I had my lunch.  Sierra had hardly gotten her sandwich out when she decided she just had to go try a few things out and off she went.  Whirling and twirling on the playground.  Then we got out the kite and enjoyed that.  Brought back many good memories for me of times with my poppy and parents at the parks.  I hope she will remember it too!  She would run all the way across the big open field until she hit the trees and we'd start again.  She even met a new little friend, Indigo, and shared the experience with her.

Then we tucked the kite away and she was off on her bike.  Our neighborhood is full of hills and it scares her a bit as she had a misshap this summer coming down hill and colided with a mail box... with me and my huge prego belly chasing after her!  So she did a few loops on the bike and back to the playground she went.  We left the park and headed for some ice cream at Josh and Johns.  They are a local homeade ice cream shop.... so good.  Our last stop of the day was to get her a pair of summer time shoes for running a muck.  All in all a great day!

Here are some pictures to share the adventure with you =)
